An investigation is underway into allegations that three police officers conspired to falsely arrest a student protestor at a December rally against tuition fees.

The young man was arrested after breaching a police cordon, but questions have been raised because one the officers pursuing the student was wearing a sound device.

The recorded conversation between the officer and his colleagues has led the Metropolitan Police to refer the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

The student suffered a broken tooth during the course of his arrest, which will also be investigated by the IPCC.
