Polls on the last day of the election campaign still suggest no party will be able to form a majority government, but they do show some good news for Labour.

The daily YouGov/Sun tracker puts the Conservatives ahead at 35%, no change, but Labour jumps into second place, gaining two points to go to 30% with the Lib Dems dropping back four to 24%.

If translated to seats this would make Labour the largest party in the Commons, 49 seats short of a government.

Labour are also second in a ComRes poll for ITV and the Independent. It shows no change at all in voting intention, with the Tories on top at 37%, Labour at 29% and the Lib Dems at 26%.
