New drive against business crime

The Home Office has launched a new drive to cut business crime with the publication of a guide offering practical advice to businesses.

The booklet, produced with a number of different industry organisations including the British Chambers of Commerce and the Association of British Insurers, aims to provide businesses with straight forward advice on reducing crime.

Recommendations in the booklet include ways to put off criminals such as removing trees and walls they could lurk behind and displaying prominent signs making clear that, for example, cash is not stored on the premises.

Home Office Minister; Hazel Blears, said: “We have listened to businesses who have said that they want simple, straightforward advice on crime prevention. This new booklet will provide them with good advice about what they can do to play their part in the fight against business crime.”
