Hewitt appoints new EOC commissioners

Four new commissioners have been appointed to the Equal Opportunities Commission by Minister for Women Patricia Hewitt.

The appointees include Mohammed Aziz, director of Faithwise and already a commissioner at the Commission for Racial Equality, and Frances Hasler, head of user and public involvement at the Commission for Social Care Inspection will join the commission over the next two months.

Evelyn Asante-Mensah, currently chief executive of the Black Health Agency, and Catherine Brown, managing director for BUPA Wellness, have also been appointed.

Ms Hewitt said: “I am delighted to be announcing the appointment of four talented people who will bring an exciting mix of skills and experience to the commission’s board.”
