Emergency sleaze debate pushed back

The Commons debate on MP standards has been moved back.

Initially schedule to begin at 3:30pm, it has been delayed by a statement from health secretary Sajid Javid will on a man who last week confessed to two murders and serial sex abuse of corpses in Kent.

Prime minister Boris Johnson will not attend the debate, and has defended the “original intention” of last week’s attempt to quash Conservative MP Owen Paterson’s recommended 30-day suspension in an interview with Sky News earlier today.
