‘Raab has some nerve to defend Govt incompetence’, say Lib Dems

Responding to Dominic Raab’s comments this morning – in which the Deputy Prime Minister defended Boris Johnson’s ‘Peppa Pig’ speech as “ebullient” and the PM as being “on great form” – Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader Daisy Cooper MP said:

“Ambulance services are under extreme pressure, people are waiting ages to see their GP, and struggling families face the prospect of losing their homes over spiralling care costs. That doesn’t sound like great form to me.

“This Government’s incompetence has been laid bare in the past few days and Dominic Raab has some nerve to defend it when so many are suffering.

“Boris Johnson and his Conservatives have shown themselves to be completely out of touch, and the PM’s bizarre ramblings about Peppa Pig were just the icing on the cake. They really need to get a grip.”
