Ex Tory minister blasts revised HS2 as ‘white elephant missing a leg’
Former Conservative minister Sir Edward Leigh MP has criticised the government’s revised HS2 plans announced by the transport secretary this morning.
The member for Gainsborough in Lincolnshire posted a clip of his comments to MPs to his Twitter account.
HS2 was always a white elephant but now it's a white elephant missing a leg.
But what we really need is a daily return train to London stopping in Market Rasen. We're still waiting despite LNER and government commitments. pic.twitter.com/JGd1KAArvP
