COP26 President to appear before Select Committees for first time since summit

The Environmental Audit Committee is to host an evidence session of the ‘Committee on COP26’, hearing from the COP President for the first time since the conclusion of the climate summit in Glasgow.

Likely topics to be discussed include: the outcomes reached at COP26, implications for UK climate policy and the priorities for the UK Presidency in the 12 months to COP27 in Egypt.

The session forms part of a series of evidence sessions arranged between nine Select Committees, covering policy areas relevant to the UNFCCC process and COP26. Guesting Members are expected from a number of other Select Committees, including Science and Technology, Treasury, Transport, BEIS and International Development.
