PwC: Non-dom policy ‘a relief’

Sean Drury, international mobility partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, said in response to the Budget:

“There was widely held speculation that the chancellor would outline a full blown review of the status of non-doms. It is a relief that the chancellor has confirmed that there will be no more changes after this Budget.

“This stability may now enhance the UK’s attractiveness to the highly-skilled and mobile employees who are key to future wealth creation in the knowledge-based economy. The constant change of the previous five years meant that non-doms were unable to settle their affairs in the UK without constant fear of an ever increasing tax regime, resulting in over ten per cent exiting the country last year according to HMRC’s own figures.”
