Fox hunting could be made legal again under government plans

The ban on hunting with dogs may be repealed, under plans being formulated by the coalition government.

The issue did not feature in the Queen’s Speech, but the coalition is expected to put a motion before the Commons asking MPs whether the issue should be reopened.

If the motion was passed, MPs would then be given a free vote on whether the Act banning hunting with dogs should be repealed.

The motion is unlikely to pass however, and commentators believe a free vote would probably be voted down by MPs.
