DRC - Money often not well spent

Friday, 01, Oct 2004 03:09

The Disability Rights Commission today said the quality of care for disabled children varied greatly from area to area and that the Government's money could be better spent.

Commenting on the report on care for disabled children published today by the Centre for Policy Studies, DRC Policy Manager Steve Haines told politics.co.uk: "The quality of support is often dependent on local assessment criteria and service delivery, which can vary greatly. Much could be done to improve this through better use of existing resources." He added: "Whilst financial constraints should not be the most important factor in determining this access, how organisations should seek to use available resources remains a key topic for debate."
