Your Right To Know

Biography

Heather Brooke is a journalist and writer living in London.

She is the author of 'Your Right to Know', a citizens' guide to using the Freedom of Information Act and accessing official information.

Most recently, she won a high court case against the House of Commons for the full disclosure of MPs' second homes allowances which resulted in the full-scale reform of the parliamentary expenses system.

Blog Information

The blog of the campaigning journalist Heather Brooke, the woman behind the campaign to have MPs expenses published is a must-read for those interested freedom of information.

The site is well laid out and easily accessible which makes the information contained therein all the easier to read.

The content of the posts is focused, as suggested in the title, on the public's right to know and includes campaigns in a number of areas where the author believes the public should have more access.

Unfortunately the posts seem to follow events rather than being a regular publication so they arrive only when there is some pertinent information, which is a shame as they are usually very detailed and contain a lot of interesting revelations.
