Wilted Rose

Biography

This blog is written by Dr Jonathan M Scott, aka "Armchair Sceptic".

He describes himself as an "ordinary citizen who was mightily disgruntled by the Labour Government and what it stood for".

Politically, he is a Belfast-based 'classical liberal' unionist, a social conservative and an evangelical Christian who supports lower taxation, economic freedom, and business ethics. He is not a member of any political party, although has been in the past and continues to be politically active.

He is an academic researcher and teacher in the field of entrepreneurship, small firms, micro-finance, innovation, and diversity/equality (gender & ethnicity).

Blog Information

Despite not having a specific party allegiance, this blogger takes a very definite stance of 'anyone but Labour'.

Perhaps naturally, this leads him to provide a lot of positive coverage for the Conservatives and despite his claims this definitely reads as a pro-Tory blog.

The posts, which range from being solely the words of the author to including quotes from papers or individuals, are well-written and well thought out, something you'd expect from an academic.

Although he appears to have suffered an existential crisis when the target of his hate, Labour, was removed from office in May 2010, he's back updating fairly regularly now, though with a little less vitriol than usual.

We like the clean look of this site and the accessibility of it. In all, this is a very good blog.
