Will Quince was first elected as the Conservative MP for Colchester in 2015 being reelected in 2019 with a majority of 9,423.

The constituency of Colchester covers the county town of Essex, and has one of the largest resident military populations of any seat in the UK.  The constituency was held by the Liberal Democrats between 1997 and 2015, but in the last two elections, Colchester has turned back to the Conservatives with the Labour Party firmly establishing itself in second place.

Quince was appointed Minister of State in the Department of Health and Social Care in September 2022.

Under Boris Johnson, Quince served as Minister of State at the Department of Education, and Under Secretary of State for Education.   He resigned from the Johnson government in July 2022, after he was sent out onto the radio airwaves to defend the prime minister in relation to the Chris Pincher afffair, doing so with information that proved to be false.

  • He served as Under Secretary for Welfare Delivery between 2019 and 2021.

Quince was born in 1982, graduated from the University of Wales in Law in 2005 and gained a postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice from the University of West of England Bristol.

Before becoming an MP, Will Quince practised as a trustee and as a solicitor in Colchester.
