Biography

Stephen Lloyd was elected as Liberal Democrat MP for Eastbourne on May 6th 2010 with a majority of 3,435.

Stephen Lloyd lives in Old Town, in Eastbourne. His partner, Cherine, works for the NHS as a community matron.

He is a school governor at Ocklynge School, a Trustee of WELMind, a local charity and a member of numerous local groups including the Eastbourne Society, The Underground Theatre, Borough Football Club, Friends of the Towner and of the Hippodrome theatres.

He is also a Trustee of the Royal Project.

Stephen was born and brought up in the coastal city of Mombasa, Kenya. From the age of eight, Stephen was educated in the UK.

For many years, Stephen was the Business Development Director of a £250 million business-improvement company called Grass Roots.

Then in 2005 Stephen started working freelance, allowing him to concentrate on his campaigning work around Eastbourne.

He has also worked with other companies and organisations, including the United Nations Environment Protection Finance Initiative and the Federation of Small Businesses.
