Peter is the Conservative councillor for Quinton ward in Birmingham, which includes Beech Lanes, Ridgacre, World's End, Chichester Drive Estate, Welsh House Farm, Simmonds Drive and Highfield Lane Estate and parts of Harborne. The B17 and B32 postcodes cover Quinton ward.

Not exactly a literary or journalistic treasure trove, but Peter Smallbone's blog is a perfect example of a solid, attentive local blog.

There are rather too many photos of him clearing up the local area, perhaps, and the political message behind the nominally 'event reporting' posts is clear, but nevertheless Smallbone uses the site to ably inform locals of what he's up to and events in the local area.

Not of particular interest to those from outside the area perhaps, but this is decent, street-level local blogging.
