Biography:

Peter Heaton-Jones was elected MP for North Devon on May 7th 2015 with 22341 votes, taking 42.7% of the vote.

Peter is not a career politician. In the last three decades, he worked as a journalist, broadcaster and marketing professional, and only a few years before his election he started being actively involved in political matters. In 2007 Peter volunteered to help on an MP’s election campaign, following which he started working for the Conservative Party as agent and campaign director for the Conservative candidates in the North Swindon and South Swindon parliamentary constituencies, both successful in gaining their seats in the 2010 general election. In the same year, Peter was elected to Swindon Borough Council as councillor, role he retained in 2012.

Born in 1963, Peter studied at the University of London.
