Nicholas Coombes
Biography
Nicholas Coombes is a Liberal Democrat councillor representing Bathwick to Bath & North East Somerset Council.
On the council his interests include architecture and the built environment, city planning, sustainability, the environment, student integration and history and culture.
He sits on the development control committee which is a quasi-judicial committee responsible for deciding planning permissions.

This is classic councillors' blog stuff: mostly local news items, discussing some graffiti here, some railway lines there.
What is most interesting are the write-ups of committee meetings, when the issues get thrashed out.
It's at its best when discussing the intricacies of local government policy; and, of course, when the bigger picture is analysed. For those in the local area, this is very useful.
