Mary Reid

Biography

Mary has been a Liberal Democrat councillor since 1997, and represents the ward of Chessington North and Hook.

She was mayor of the royal borough of Kingston upon Thames for the year 2006-2007.

She has a deep interest in e-government, and in e-democracy in particular.

From November 2003 to March 2006 she served as chair of the local e-Democracy national project.

When that project ended she joined the board of the International Centre of Excellence for Local e-Democracy as vice chair.

Blog Information

Mary Reid's political activities are motivated by a single theme: the importance of strong opposition.

Her experience shines through, whether it's talking about local politics or the issues facing the country.

There are some pretty hefty posts here, on the implementation of this or that; but we're relieved and as interested by the lighter items.

And it's good to know when the local fun day is happening, of course.
