Martin Vickers

Biography

Martin Vickers was elected as Conservative MP for Cleethorpes on May 6th 2010 with a majority of 4,298.

Martin was born in Cleethorpes, educated at Havelock School and Grimsby College. In 2004 after 6 years study as a part-time student at Lincoln University he gained a B.A. (Hons) degree in politics.

He worked in the printing industry and the retail trade before taking up the position of Constituency Agent to Edward Leigh MP in 1994.

He has 25 years experience as a councillor, including six years as the Cabinet Member for Environmental Services. He is married to Ann and they have one daughter.

As well as his service as a local councillor Martin served his local community until recently as a churchwarden.
