Mark Fraser Williams

Biography

Mark Williams was re-elected MP for Ceredigion in May 2010 with a majority of 8,324 votes.

He entered Parliament at his fourth attempt in 2005, regaining this seat from Plaid Cymru after 13 years.

After attending Richard Hale Secondary School, Hertford, Mark Williams read politics at Aberystwyth University. In what spare time Mark has he enjoys walking, his garden and an ever growing collection of political biographies.

After graduating Mark became a part-time researcher to the Liberal Peers in the House of Lords. Mark then trained to be a teacher at the University of Plymouth and taught in England for several years before becoming Deputy Head of Ysgol Llangors, Nr Brecon, in 2000.

He joined the Welsh Select Committee in 2005 and in 2006 he was appointed to the Welsh Affairs team; he had previously been a member of the Education team [2005-06].
