Biography:

Gregg McClymont was elected as Labour MP for Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East on May 6th 2010 with a majority of 13,755.

Gregg was born and brought up in Cumbernauld. He attended Kildrum Primary School and Cumbernauld High School between 1981 and 1993.

Gregg went to Glasgow University. After graduating in 1997, he won the Thouron scholarship which paid for him to live and study history at the University of Pennsylvania.

He returned to Cumbernauld in 1999 before doing a PhD in history at Oxford University.

He taught history there until May 2010, when he was elected as MP for Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East.
