Biography
Former journalist Phil Dilks is chairman of Deeping St James parish council in south Lincs. and is a member of Royal Anglian Association (former TA CSM), Co-operative party, and GMB trade union.
Phil Dilks became known as Fair Deal Phil when he campaigned for reduced bus fares for pensioners and disabled people in the Deepings.
His biggest campaign has been successfully exposing Lincolnshire's scholarship scandal where every council taxpayer in the county is forced to pay the private school fees of a few Stamford children.
Blog Information
Phil Dilk's blogs are a mixture of national commentary and local issues - meaning he sometimes swings disconcertingly between 'Labour attack dog' and 'village fete'.
This is not to denigrate Mr Dilk's local musings as 'provincial' - as a matter of fact, the picture of local life conjured up in the blog was a real breath of fresh air here at politics.co.uk HQ.
However, with such lovely descriptions of local events, a few more pictures wouldn't go astray.
