Curly's Corner Shop

Biography

Curly has lived the whole of his life in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, and was educated at South Shields Grammar and Technical School for Boys as well as Sunderland Polytechnic.

He was a member of the Conservative party for many years and was chairman of South Shields Young Conservatives as well as being active in the Federation of Conservative Students at Sunderland and Durham.

He was also a member of the independent South Shields Progressive Association, and was elected as a member of South Tyneside metropolitan borough council in the 1980's.

He has not been an active member of any party for the last twenty years but retains views which are slightly right of centre.

By profession he has been a retailer for 30 years, lately with one of the world's largest retail companies and has worked in most major towns from Edinburgh down to Grimsby.

This blog relates to news, politics, and sporting events and how they affect his life and thinking in the north east of England.

Blog Information

An interesting if not groundbreaking blog, Curly's Corner Shop is definitely Conservative leaning even if it is not strictly a Conservative blog.

The regular posts are well-written and make for interesting reading, especially when they're looking at some of the less well-publicised stories.

Though there's clearly an anti-Labour stance running through some of the posts, it's not coupled with a pro-Cameron line which makes this more readable than some of the strictly Tory blogs.

An interesting read for anyone, we enjoyed this blog.
