DSCF: Primary curriculum
Tuesday, 26 Feb 2008 00:00
The government is seeking to introduce a new primary curriculum from September 2011.
Schools secretary Ed Balls has asked Sir Jim Rose to conduct a review of the present curriculum which will issue its final report in March 2009.
Sir Jim is consulting education stakeholders for their views on the primary curriculum, which he says is essential to delivering the government's Children's Plan.
"It follows that our central purpose is to make the curriculum as good as it can be for all primary children, taking fully into account the importance of providing continuity with the early years foundation stage and the secondary stage curriculum," he said.
The consultation ends on April 30th 2008.
