Campaign for an English Parliament

Biography

The CEP's strategy is to assemble the most powerful coalition of expert and public opinion possible with a view to securing an English referendum on the question of establishing a parliament for the residents of England.

Ultimately, an English parliament cannot come about without the co-operation and agreement of the House of Commons.

The CEP's role is working with academics, business groups, trades unions, think tanks and the media to create the conditions where MPs see that there is no alternative to holding a referendum.

Blog Information

For those that don't know, the Campaign for an English Parliament (CEP) want to create a parliament for England akin to that of the devolved Scottish one at Holyrood.

This blog provides posts on all the things you might expect from such a group, highlighting the issues which affect their cause and providing links to their various regional blogs.

The blog is hosted on the party's main page so there's lots of opportunities for those so inclined to get involved.

Whether you agree with the sentiment or not, this is an interesting little blog fighting for a single issue, which means it occasionally comes up with stories you might not find anywhere else.

We didn't like the press-release nature of the blog and felt it could be updated more regularly, but on the whole we found the site interesting.
