George Osborne's autumn statement on Tuesday is the highlight of the parliamentary week.

The chancellor will deliver his assessment of the state of the economy based on figures from the Office for Budget Responsibility, before unveiling a series of measures which the coalition hopes will bolster the fading recovery.

He can expect a coruscating response from Ed Miliband, however, as the leader of the opposition accuses the government's economic "gamble" of having failed.
