Date: Saturday, 11th August 2007

Time: 10:00am—4:00pm

Venue: Bretton Gate, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE3 9UZ

Occasion: A fete celebrates care home extension.

BUPA’s stylishly-designed Wentworth Croft Nursing Home in Peterborough is having an open day and fete on Saturday 11 August to mark the completion of its £1.5 million extension.

Activities will appeal to young and old alike with a Jazz band, face painting, balloon race, quizzes, a raffle to benefit the Alzheimer’s society and a tour around the home and new extension.

Two of the four houses at Wentworth Croft have been extended, adding an additional 22 ensuite bedrooms and taking the total number of rooms to 156. The home was specifically designed and built to meet the needs of older people and includes a specialist dementia unit.

Set in landscaped gardens, each house in the development has its own character, and residents are encouraged to bring personal items to recreate that ‘home from home’ feel. In addition, each room has its own television point and telephone /internet access. Overall, the care home promises the best care and comfort to local older people entering residential services.

BUPA Care Services’ Henry Mutambo, home manager at Wentworth Croft, said: “It has been a pleasure to watch the building work progress to the current high standard of accommodation we see today. We are pleased to be inviting local people in the area to see it for themselves as part of an open day and fete.”

The home is located on Bretton Gate, off junction 16 of the A47, just next to the Edith Cavell Hospital. The home is 3 miles from Peterborough City Centre on a main bus route and 1 mile from the Bingo Gala.
