BASC: Sherborne gundog team challenge results

Wednesday, 14, Jun 2006 12:00

The BASC (Gundog) Team Challenge, which was held at the Sherborne Castle Country Fair in Dorset on 29th May, attracted teams from all over the south of England.

Teams of four retrievers had to compete over a number of tests previously used for the International Retriever event which the BASC Team Challenge has replaced.

In the morning, four tests were run simultaneously in the Deer Park, and in the afternoon, the finale was held by the lakeside where two dogs from each team competed in front of a large crowd of spectators.

The event, which was sponsored by Chudleys Dog Food, Highwood Ltd and Humberts, was judged by Gwen Knox, Michael Dare, Robin Watson and Thelma Salaman.
