The BASC Gamekeepers’ Fair will be back with a bang on 12-13 April 2008 when it returns to the grounds of Catton Park in Derbyshire.

The fair, which is organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary and BASC’s centenary over the two day event. This will be the third year that the gamekeepers’ fair has been held at Catton. It was previously held at Shugborough Hall in Staffordshire.

There will be gundog events, clay shooting competitions, muzzle loading, and an air rifle range. The main ring events will feature old favourites such as the falconry and ferreting displays. BASC shotgun coaches will be on hand to provide tuition for all levels of experience and BASC staff will be available to offer advice on a wide range of issues. Visitors to the fair will also be able to meet BASC’s new regional director for the Midlands, Steve Bloomfield.

Regional officer for the Midlands, Liz Lamb, said: “We are extremely grateful to Robin and Katie Neilson in allowing us to return to the elegant surroundings of Catton Park. The BASC Gamekeepers’ Fair is always a special event and offers a great family day out.”
