World's leading autism experts -
Professor GARY MESIBOV comes to Wales.
Autism Cymru, Wales’ National Charity for Autism and Trinity Fields School and Resource Centre have joined forces to present a three day TEACCH conference in Rhondda Cynon Taff with Professor Gary Mesibov, Director of Division TEACCH to familiarise professionals with the TEACCH approach to autism.
The course will demonstrate a structured teaching approach to the condition which is thought to affect as many as 1 in a 100 people. Aspects of applying TEACCH techniques to classroom instruction will also be highlighted as well as a discussion of diagnosis and assessment in autism.
The conference is designed for all professionals working with children with an autistic spectrum disorder including teachers, social care workers, speech and language therapists, psychologists, learning support staff and many others.
The course, which is non-residential, includes am/pm tea-coffee and a light lunch.
The event will take place from 20th to 22nd February 2007 and will be held at the Conference Centre at ESIS, RCT.
