Parliament has risen for the summer recess, so we're taking our customary look back at the last few months in politics.

It's been a tough period for the coalition. George Osborne's Budget has continued to unravel, the Queen's Speech underwhelmed and its flagship – the Lords reform bill – has joined the list of endangered species.

Politics.co.uk's Ian Dunt chews the cud with Alex Stevenson as they assess the damage of the BSkyB takeover bid scandal, which nearly cost Jeremy Hunt his job, and the Libor scandal, which did cost ex-Barclays boss Bob Diamond his.

It won't be until Christmas that we look back at the state of play once more. One thing's clear: it's not going to be easy for the coalition between then and now.
