v wants to forge a shared vision of the importance of volunteering across society and government, sharing research, promoting good practice and creating the conditions where young volunteers are included in decision-making that affects them.
We also want to make sure that current policy development takes account of youth volunteering and the benefits it can offer. Youth volunteering is not just a third sector issue; it is relevant across all Government departments and can positively impact on areas such as educational attainment, skills development and community cohesion.
Responses to recent consultations can be found on the wearev website and these include:
• A response from v to the Morgan Inquiry into young adult volunteering
• A response from v to the Commission on the future of volunteering
v has already carried out several pieces of research that aim to inform national debate and influence policy development. These include:
• Attitudes and Perceptions: volunteering and skills development
• Barriers preventing passionate young people from acting on their concerns
• Innovations in international youth volunteering
These documents can also be accessed on the wearev website
