Vote yes for November 30, Enough is Enough: Unite Battle Bus backs public sector workers
As Unite moves a step closer to opening its ballot for industrial action over public sector pensions, and unions, including Unite, prepare to challenge the government over pensions in the High Court (see notes to editors) a Unite battle bus will tour workplaces across London to support members.
The passengers will include Unite assistant general secretary Gail Cartmail, who leads for Unite in talks with the government. Gail will disembark the bus at College Green at 12.50 on Monday and will be available for interview. The message will be, after cuts, attacks on the NHS and pay freezes "enough is enough".
The writing on the bus reads 'Vote yes for November 30 Unite Enough is Enough'.
Unite represents a broad base of public sector workers, stretching from paramedics to nursery nurses, park keepers to the security guards on Ministry of Defence bases . The ballot will embrace an estimated 200,000 public sector workers nationwide. The bus leaves from Unite House in Holborn at 10.00am and arrives at College Green, Westminster around 12.50pm.

Six unions have mounted a legal challenge on behalf of millions of public sector workers over what inflation index is used to increase their pensions.
A judicial review hearing starts in the High Court on Tuesday (25 October) to challenge the switch to using the consumer price index (CPI) instead of the traditionally-higher retail price index (RPI) for the annual increase in public sector pensions.
