London to Paris cycle rides 2012

What is the event? Join TACT for a once in a lifetime cycle ride from London to Paris taking in some stunning English countryside and beautiful French scenary before finishing your ride beside the iconic Eiffel Tower.

When's the trip taking place? London to Paris trips take place throughout the summer, with some companies starting their trips as early as April.

Can I take part? Yes of course.

Will I be required to pay a deposit to secure my place? Yes, most London to Paris companies will require a deposit. This can vary from £99 to £150 depending on which company you choose to cycle with.

Will I need to raise money? Yes. As with the deposit, how much you are required to raise will vary depending on which company you book with. Most companies will expect you to raise a minimum of £1,400 to £1,600. This amount will cover your tour costs - accommodation, food, guides etc and the remaining amount approximately £700 will be direct profit to TACT.

That's a lot of money, will TACT help me? Of course. TACT will do what we can to help you reach your fundraising target. We can provide you with regular fundraising ideas as well as a recommended training schedule, equipment list and much more to help you prepare.

How will the money I raise benefit TACT? The money you raise for TACT will directly benefit the children and young people in our care. It is a sad fact that the majority of looked after children have come into care having suffered abuse or neglect. The traumas they have suffered can stay with them through childhood and into adulthood unless they receive the right support now. Your support will help fund the post of a Leaving Care Resource Worker who works with young people as they approach leaving care age. It will also enable us to give them the same magical moments other children enjoy - we can take them on fun days out and activity weekends that they would otherwise not be able to relish.

Who are TACT's recommended tour companies? In the past we've worked with Skyline, Adventure Cafe and Discover Adventure - all of which we highly recommend.

Sounds great. What do I need to do now? If you're interested in cycling London to Paris in aid of TACT we suggest having a browse at our recommended tour companies to see if they have a date suitable for you. If at any point you'd like to discuss your options with us please feel free to contact us on 020 8695 2314 or email fundraising@tactcare.org.uk. We'd love to hear from you.
