SCP: Seniors congratulate Willie Walsh

Wednesday, 21 May 2008 10:27
The Senior Citizens Party (www.seniorcitizensparty.org.uk) congratulates Chief Executive of British Airways, Willie Walsh, on refusing his £700,000 bonus because of the Terminal 5 fiasco. Party Chairman, Grahame Leon-Smith said: "We have often condemned leaders of industry who pay themselves obscenely high salaries and bonuses even when the companies they lead are in financial difficulties and they are making staff redundant. We believe that the Financial Services Association should act against such appallingly unethical practices which effectively defraud both employees and shareholders. All the more reason to congratulate Willie Walsh and to express the hope that others will follow his excellent example."
