SCP: Is Putin the new Hitler?

Some of our Seniors can still remember the start of the 2nd World War, its causes and its terrible consequences, with millions of people killed, the majority of them Russians, but Vladimir (power behind the throne) Putin is too young to remember any of this. We have no idea what his schooling or his parents taught him about the horrendous events following 1939. He needs to be reminded that Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia and Poland on the excuse that he needed to defend the German minorities in these two countries, and Putin has done exactly the same thing with Georgia. History has a horrible habit of repeating itself and the EU must not make the same mistake as Neville Chamberlain. Appeasing an aggressive dictator has never worked throughout history, indeed it has always encouraged him to continue and even increase his aggression. Invading Georgia is likely to achieve the very opposite of what Putin wants, namely all the former USSR states clamouring to join NATO as a defence against Russian aggression. Nobody wants a 3rd World War, but Russia must be ostracised and excluded from the organisations of civilised countries until it signs a formal non-aggression pact, approved and witnessed by the United Nations, with all its neighbours, and agrees that any peacekeeping forces which may be needed in parts of Georgia must be provided by the United Nations and not include any country which is trying to annex them. Russia should also pay compensation to Georgia for all the damage caused and the people killed by Russian troops. Putin may not like the comparison with Hitler, but unless he abandons his aggressive policies, people will continue to regard him in this light.
