NCVO appoints new marketing chief

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) www.ncvo-vol.org.uk has appointed a new Head of Marketing and Membership, following Martin Nee's move to the Media Trust as Marketing Director. Gillen Knight is stepping up from his position as Marketing, Events and Member Communications Manager, following a competitive recruitment process. Knight comes with ten years' voluntary sector experience. He will lead a team of 13.
Knight will lead on the marketing strategy to recruit new members as well as serving existing members' needs. He will also be responsible for raising brand awareness of NCVO, and increasing the use of products and services so that voluntary organisations get the help and support they need. The role covers membership, business development, fundraising, enterprise and marketing.
Gillen Knight, Head of Marketing and Membership said:
'I am delighted to be taking on the role of Head of Marketing and Membership at such an exciting time for NCVO. My aim will be to make NCVO be recognised as the most representative and effective umbrella body, in terms of meeting organisations needs, and effecting the changes that are necessary for the good of the people who depend on their services. There is never a time to be complacent, we are always striving to prove the benefit that we bring to members, and attract new members to the fold.'
