Virgin Trains: Route improvement work on the West Coast Main Line affects Virgin Trains’ services this weekend
Friday, 25 Jul 2008 08:47
Despite an intensive programme of route improvement work this weekend July 26 and 27, Virgin Trains is advising customers that all stations will remain open for business although some journeys may involve the use of replacement coaches.
The West Coast Main Line will be closed at Rugby for virtually the whole weekend although for most of that time by using an alternative route there will be a train service in both directions between London Euston and Birmingham International where connections can be made with trains to the North West. The Euston to Birmingham International service will also call at Coventry.
A Pendolino shuttle service will also operate in both directions from Euston to Northampton calling at Watford Junction and Milton Keynes. Frequent replacement coaches will run from Northampton to Birmingham International.
Further north, the line between Lancaster and Carlisle will be closed all weekend. The stations will be linked by two replacement coach services, one running fast, the other serving the intermediate locations of Oxenholme and Penrith.
