Sharing best practice to promote service improvement is something the social care sector is increasingly embracing. To encourage this, the Social Care Accolades Partnership is holding Sharing Good Practice Workshops on 20 November 2007 at the Metropole Hotel, Llandrindod.
The winners of the 2007 Social Care Accolades, held last June, will be leading the nine workshops, focussing on a variety of topics. The Accolades awarded good practice, concentrating on learning and development within the social care sector to improve standard of service.
The workshops offer further opportunity to draw attention of organisations within the public, voluntary and private sector to good practice in the social care sector, providing opportunities to further share initiatives with managers and practitioners. This is a chance to discuss and learn in more detail and depth of the good practice that is taking place and to spread this across the care sector.
The workshops will focus on breaking down barriers to learning and development; extending recruitment strategies; promoting career opportunities to attract younger people; learning and development through community involvement; encouraging ongoing learning and development as part of day to day working; retention of workers; and effective partnership to improve the learning and development of the workforce.
There is good practice from all parts of Wales, involving local authorities social services, joint working with health, voluntary sector and Further and Higher Education Establishments.
The workshops are open to all organisations or individuals interested in best practice and improvement across social care services.
