BMF takes to the track with rider experience days

Tuesday, 06 May 2008 10:16
The BMF has teamed up with the VNE Consultancy to deliver a series of circuit based riding experiences, but without the macho element and peer pressure often associated with such events.

The BMF Rider Experience Days will take place at some of the countries favourite race circuits, i.e. Mallory Park, Cadwell Park and Knockhill. The aim of the day is to provide each participant with the knowledge and confidence to really explore their own abilities and that of their machines in a safe and controlled environment where the emphasis is very much on having a great day out and enjoying riding motorcycles, rather than seeking out that last 1000th of a second!

The BMF has long recognised that many riders have pre-conceived ideas on taking to a race circuit and therefore a degree of trepidation. Riders often choose not venture onto the circuit for fear of not being fast enough or stepping outside of their comfort zone. This is where th e BMF days are different says VNE’s Tim Bradshaw: “A race circuit enables participants to concentrate 100% on machine control and provides us with the perfect environment in which to further the motorcyclists skills without fear of oncoming traffic or prosecution for speeding.”

On the day, VNE’s team of professional riders, including former British Super Bike riders, Isle of Man TT racers and F1 Sidecar pilots, will provide Instruction. As well as track sessions, riders will also be able to attempt a Buell skills course and attend lessons on how to select the best line through the corners.

Buell Motorcycles will also support a number of the events where participants will have the opportunity to try a Buell on circuit completely free of charge.

From start to finish the VNE team will ensure that riders receive as much help as they need to make the best of the BMF Rider Experience Day. The days are open to members and none members but with special rates for BMF members.

To book, call Jane Longthorn at BMF Events on: 0116 284 5392.
