The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has published a new Access Control Systems Handbook and Logbook for Installed systems. The publication is an essential tool to accompany the installation of any access control system, providing guidance and aiding customers in its management.
“Access control systems can bring a host of benefits to a company, including crime prevention and essential security and management facilities. Providing comprehensive information to customers on their access control system is a vital point of any installer’s service,” says BSIA Technical and Membership Services Director, Alex Carmichael. “The BSIA Access Control Handbook and Logbook is both a comprehensive reference tool and maintenance record that can be referred to at any time, providing crucial after-sales support.”
The publication contains guidance for customers on the management of their system including the following key areas:
- An overview of system management responsibilities including the nominated person’s duties, maintenance and servicing requirements, and the customer’s legal obligations.
- Access Control system service record – where details of maintenance checks and any corrective repairs can be recorded.
- Temporary disconnection record.
- Details of relevant standards and legislation.
The Access Control Systems Handbook and Logbook is available for purchase for members and non-members by contacting the BSIA on 0845 389 3889 or via email info@bsia.co.uk.
