Commenting on Gordon Brown outlining the Government’s Draft Legislative Programme BSA Chief Executive Mark Fox said:
“There is much legislative activity proposed today that will directly affect the competitiveness and productivity of the UK business and outsourced service industry. Examples include proposed legislation on agency workers, employees rights to request training, extending flexible working, NHS reform and equality proposals.
On the whole we would like to see previous policy initiatives followed through and given a chance to become fully effective before another round is implemented.
The industry is operating in an increasingly tough and challenging economic environment in the private and public sectors and we would welcome a strong reaffirmation from the Government about its commitment to increasing the role of the private sector in public sector service provision.”
