Some of the UK’s leading experts on birds of prey will be coming together to talk about their work at a special BASC event in Derbyshire.
The members’ evening, which is being held at the Royal Oak in Hanging Bridge near Ashbourne on 23 October, will include presentations by Stephen Murphy from Natural England’s Hen Harrier Recovery Project, Richard May from the Moorland Association and representatives from the RSPB and police wildlife experts.
BASC regional director for the Midlands, Steve Bloomfield, said: “The relationship between birds of prey and viable shooting interests is a hot topic at the moment and I think it is important for as many people as possible to get the opportunity to hear a balanced view from some very knowledgeable speakers.”
The event starts at 7pm and is free and open to everyone – more information is available through the BASC website: http://www.basc.org.uk/media/bascmemberseveningni2008.pdf
