NCVO invites sector leaders to open up about their confidence

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) is inviting voluntary sector leaders to give their views on the health and prospects of their organisations in its new confidence and trends survey. 'Charity Forecast: a quarterly survey of sector leaders' is the first survey of its kind in the sector, and is designed to provide voluntary organisations with valuable information that they can use in their planning processes. Karl Wilding, Head of Research at NCVO said:

'Charity leaders stand out in many ways, but now we want to know how confident they are about their organisations' future, as well as the sector's future. By opening up about their plans and views, they will help provide a valuable planning resource for voluntary organisations. This confidence and trends survey will put us on a level playing field with other parts of the economy that have been running this type of survey for years.'

The survey, Charity Forecast: a quarterly survey of sector leaders, mirrors confidence and trends surveys carried out in the private sector, the cornerstone of these surveys is the CBI's Quarterly Industrial Trends Survey. It will survey charity leaders to determine how optimistic or pessimistic they feel about the following three months, their financial, employment, campaigning and service delivery plans, the main barriers they see hindering their organisation and more.

The results of the survey will be published in March 2008. Charity leaders who participate in the survey will receive a copy free of charge.
