Cogent: Julia Bennett appointed as Project Manager

Julia Bennett has joined Cogent SSC as Project Manager, to support the development and roll out of its products and services to industry. Cogent is the Sector Skills Council for the chemicals, pharmaceuticals, nuclear, oil and gas, petroleum and polymer industries

Julia has a career spanning over 28 years with AztraZeneca Pharmaceuticals and its predecessors including a spell in Delaware, USA and high-level positions in Production and Project Management. She will bring in-depth pharmaceutical industry understanding to a key part of the Cogent SSC footprint.

She has a successful track record in international project management, change management and people management. Most recently she was responsible for co-ordinating and motivating international project teams from as many as thirty separate AztraZeneca sites and a across a range of disciplines to bring about change across key activities in the Group.

Julia graduated from the University of Sussex with a BSc Honours in Control Engineering. She is a Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and a Chartered Engineer and has held several committee positions for the IEE locally and nationally.

Commenting on her appointment, Julia said: “I am proud to be joining Cogent to work on the Train to Gain project and to ensure that it meets the skills needs of the employers in our footprint.”

Julia enjoys outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, swimming and gardening. She is also keen on fitness and has successfully completed an NVQ 2 Gym Fitness Instructor Course. Julia also enjoys the theatre as well as ballroom, Latin and rock and roll dancing and has achieved medals in the various dance areas.
