Chartered Society of Physiotherapy pay deal statement - response to Unite press release
Wednesday, 16 Apr 2008 15:52
In response to Unite’s press release regarding the threat to stage the 2008/9 NHS pay award if unions don’t back a three-year pay deal, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy has issued the following statement.
Lesley Mercer, Director of Employment Relations and Union Services at The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, comments: “We do not believe that the current proposed pay deal is a fair reward for the huge contribution that physiotherapists make to the health and care of NHS patients. The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy values the independent Pay Review Body process and is greatly concerned by the government threat to compromise this process for a second year if the three-year deal is not accepted.”
