The newly updated Social Care Induction Framework for Wales, prepared by the Care Council for Wales will be rolled out to those working in social care services for children, young people and adults at two information sharing events in North and South Wales on 25 January and 8 February.
This latest Social Care Induction Framework has been updated from the groundbreaking Social Care Induction Framework that was produced in 2002, to ensure that workers are prepared well for their roles and that the latest developments in social care are addressed in workers’ practice and development.
The Social Care Induction Framework is a valuable tool for employers to support staff through a structured induction process. It can be used to audit the skills, knowledge and experience of staff, as well as to contribute to the process of gaining qualifications.
The Framework provides a practical structure to assist employees and employers get the best from this important time, and set in place firm foundations for future development.
The Care & Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) expects that all employers take the induction framework into account in developing and delivering induction for staff.
As well as a presentation on the updated Social Care Induction Framework for Wales, the above two events will include a presentation on the latest National Occupational Standards (NOS) that the Care Council for Wales has been working in partnership to develop - the Leadership and Management for Care Services NOS and the Contracting, Procurement and Commissioning NOS.
