BASC has secured the future of wildfowling on 143km of foreshore in England and Wales by helping sixteen wildfowling clubs successfully renew their wildfowling consents, and any associated leases in the last year.
There were 12 wildfowling consents renewed in England with four in Wales. During the same period, five other leases were also renewed on sites with no change to the consent status.
Lee Freeston, chairman of the Wildfowling Liaison Committee, said: “This is a key aspect of BASC’s efforts in securing a future for wildfowling within the current legislative framework governing shooting within nationally and internationally designated coastal sites in the UK. “
Since 2004, BASC has helped negotiate 38 wildfowling consents in England, 15 in Wales and four in Northern Ireland, a linear length of approximately 563 km of foreshore.
