PCS: Operational note: Civil and public servants national 48 hour strike

Courts, jobcentres, driving tests, tax offices, border controls and passports are amongst some of the services that will be affected on 8 and 9 March as up to 270,000 civil and public servants from across the UK begin a 48 hour stoppage over cuts to redundancy terms.
Over the two days there will photo and broadcast opportunities across the UK In this brief you will find information on picket lines, rallies and marches. You will also find route details of a battle bus which will be touring picket lines in London on Tuesday 9 March. These include: The Royal Courts of Justice, The Houses of Parliament, The Met Police at New Scotland Yard, The Victoria and Albert Museum, British Library and Government Departments in Whitehall.

Civil servants threaten strike
The head of the main civil service union, the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS), has confirmed that his members have voted for strike action.
More than a quarter of a million public servants will be balloted today on possible strike action over Government pension plans.
Civil servants working in more than 200 government departments and agencies have voted to go on strike over planned job cuts.
Up to 270,000 civil servants have begun a 48-hour strike against cuts to redundancy terms.
Civil servants are considering fresh industrial action after completing a 48-hour strike against changes to the civil service compensation scheme.
Senior civil servants will join other public sector staff in taking strike action over Government reforms to civil service pensions.
A dispute over the civil service compensation scheme (CSCS) will see members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union balloted on industrial action tomorrow.
